Product description

Darjeeling tea is traditionally prized as the champagne of black teas and is among the most unique teas in the world. It is known for its elegance and smoothness and is famed for its light colour and for its exquisite floral bouquet . The subtle muscatel flavour has a cooling aftertaste, making it a hit with drinkers all over the world. Darjeeling is grown in ancient tea gardens, high in the Indian mountains. Only the two best leaves and one bud from each plant are picked and so this low yield explains why it is one of the most sought after teas in the world. Darjeeling tea is also lighter and less astringent than most black teas, but more layered and complex than most green teas.

The following health benefits may accompany consumption of this tea

Darjeeling tea is believed to boost the immune system and reduce the risk of cell damage. From a health perspective, it helps make the skin look younger, thanks to its unique antioxidants. Darjeeling tea also promotes relaxation due a particular amino acid in the leaves contain called L-l-theanine, which reduces mental and physical stress and promotes a feeling of relaxation and well-being. Darjeeling tea provides a healthier energy boost than coffee. Although the beverages contain almost the same amount of caffeine, the L-l-theanine component in Darjeeling tea softens caffeine's speedy, uneven effects, and as a result, a person consuming Darjeeling tea will feel relaxed and simultaneously energized. Darjeeling tea, like other black teas, contains antioxidants called flavonoids that fight cellular damage. The detoxifying action of antioxidants protects cells from free radical damage, which can contribute to blood clot formation, cancer and atherosclerosis.
