Gunpowder green tea derives its name from the shape of the finished tea, which looks a little like gunpowder. The very dark green leaves have been rolled into little pellets for drying, to keep the aroma fresh for the drinker. These pellet like balls are full of taste and fragrance and that is why they are sometimes called "green pearl". The taste of Gunpowder tea is thick and mellow like pure honey and refreshes you as you taste it. Gunpowder is produced mainly in the Fujian and  Zhejiang provinces of China.
